| "Moonlight Steam Train Dinner Parties" Ride a moonlight steam train to 1880. This romantic evening includes a BBQ steak dinner, mountain music and dancing beneath the soft glow of paper lanterns. Then board a steam train for a journey through moonlit redwood forests. Moonlight Steam Train Dinner Parties for individuals and groups are scheduled on the Saturday nearest a full moon from June through October. Private events can be scheduled on any other Saturday during the year, with 150 tickets guaranteed. "Annual Events" Roaring Camp & Big Trees Railroad hosts many different annual events such as the "Annual Civil War Battles and Encampment" on Memorial day weekend. | A turn-of-the-century seaside amusement park. Choose from heart-pounding rides like the Hurricane, Tsunami, Chaos, and Ghost Blasters. Or classic rides like the 1924 Giant Dipper roller coaster and 1911 Looff Carousel. Plus, there are great rides for kids of all ages - over 30 rides in all! Admissions: The Boardwalk is admission free. You'll find 5 ride ticket plans to meet your individual needs. From season passes to individual ride ticket sales, you'll find the right plan for spending an hour, a day, a week or longer at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Great ticket values are available on-line! Hours: The Boardwalk is open daily, Memorial Day through Labor Day - and on weekends and most holidays during the spring and fall. Operating hours vary. At least five Boardwalk rides are open Monday through Friday for limited operation from 12 noon to 5 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, full operation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. | The Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor serves as a harbor of refuge for coastal mariners and provides berthing and dry storage for a variety of boats ranging from kayaks to commercial fishing vessels. Visitor berthing is available and encouraged. There is a well-maintained launch ramp to serve trailerable vessels. You will find many boating-related businesses, restaurants, and shops in the harbor area, and information displays which emphasize the marine history of Monterey Bay and the small craft harbor. There are several business that offer various types of yacht cruises through the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary form the Santa Cruz Harbor which are listed on the Attractions, Site Seeing & Tours page. Annual Events Include: Lighted Boat Parade, Winter Tall Ship Tour, City of Santa Cruz Fireworks Spectacular, Shark Festival & Sanctuary Celebration. |

| The Seymour Marine Discovery Center is part of the Joseph M. Long Marine Laboratory, a research and education facility of the University of California, Santa Cruz. The laboratory is affiliated with the Institute of Marine Sciences, a university research unit. The lab serves as a base for field research in Monterey Bay and the ocean beyond. The aquarium exhibits look like a working marine laboratory. The center serves as a base for docent-led tours of the Long Marine Lab facilities, the Younger Lagoon Natural Reserve, and the shores of the marine sanctuary. Admissions: Adult $5; Student or Senior (60+) $3; Youth (6-16) $3; Child (5 and under) Free. Hours: First Tuesday of each month free admission; Tuesday-Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm; Sunday, noon to 5 pm; Closed Monday. Tour Times: Lab-wide tours depart 1-3 pm (last tour ends at 4 pm). A limited number of tours are offered each afternoon and are limited to 20 participants per tour. Tours are filled on a first come, first serve basis. Sign ups begin one hour before tour time. |

| The aquarium's exhibits take you into the hidden world of Monterey Bay, a spectacular ocean realm at the heart of the nation's largest marine sanctuary. The exhibits re-create the bay's habitats, from shallow tide pools to the open ocean and deep sea. The aquarium is self-guided, but there are volunteer guides in rust-colored jackets to answer your questions. Audio tours-on-tape are available in English, Spanish, French, German and Japanese for $3. Admissions: Adult $19.95; Student (13-17yrs or college ID) $15.95; Senior (65+) $17.95, Child (3-12yrs) $8.95; Child (Under 3) Free; Disabled $8.95.
